Library News
Welcome to our Rustburg Middle School library! Reading can take you anywhere! There is so much excitement in the library this year! Books are flying off the shelves and into our student's hands! All books are checked out for one week, then they need to be renewed or returned. If a book has been "hanging around the house" a while encourage your son or daughter to return it to us! If you need to talk to myself or my wonderful assistant Ms. Moody feel free to call us at 434 332.6596 ext. 351 or email me at wdavis@campbell.k12.va.us.
If you are looking for more information about the books housed in our library feel free to follow the link below to search Destiny Discover.
Lots of reading love,
Mrs. Davis
Welcome Back to our new school year! We are definitely excited about the 2024-25 school year in the library! Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Moody strive to make the library the Heart of Our School! In the past students were given a READO Challenge and Rewarded for completing it, this year we are trying a new idea. Students will be given a new and improved AcademicChallenge Choice Board. The board is a mixture of all subjects students must complete a ROW or a Diagonal to be able to participate in the Reward. They may not complete a Column. All Challenge Boards are due by October 11th to the Library. The Reward is in the planning stage, so stay tuned for more info!
Also, our Fall Once Upon A Book Fair will be September 20-September 20th! Family Night will be Tuesday, September 24th!

Read Across Rustburg was a huge success last week! Students and staff participated in a spirit week by dressing up as twins, confusing patterns, to represent a decade and in school colors!. They also all heard a book in the library called This Way Charlie by Caron Levis and Charles Santoso. The book is a great story about an animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Oklahoma. It was the start of a community service project for our school, we are collecting pet items for the Friends of Campbell County! It is such a worthy cause, and we are off to a great start. We will collect pet supplies for the whole month of March we welcome community donations as well. (see the list below)
Ms. Harvell and Mrs. Sugden are very pattern confused!!!
WELCOME RED CARPET READERS!!!!
On Friday, March 18th, RMS celebrated our 3rd READO Book Challenge. Students were challenged to read Award Winning Books from many different categories, and read they did! 179 students walked on the Red Carpet and participated in "award themed" activities. So much fun was had by students and adults, that they were asking for the next READO Challenge Sheets!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible for our students. Mandy Pugh, Elizabeth Moody, Rae Henderson, Fallon Wright, Elizabeth Knowles, Brandy Hall, Tracy Scott, Mrs. Slusher, Ms. Hayek, Rustburg and Concord Elementary, (for letting us borrow beanbag chairs) Rustburg Public Library, the art students, and all the students who read to get there! Our last READO challege begins Tuesday, March 22nd! Happy Reading everyone!
