Welcome to our Rustburg Middle School library! Reading can take you anywhere! There is so much excitement in the library this year! Books are flying off the shelves and into our student's hands! All books are checked out for one week, then they need to be renewed or returned. If a book has been "hanging around the house" a while encourage your son or daughter to return it to us! If you need to talk to myself or my wonderful assistant Ms. Moody feel free to call us at 434 332.5141 or email me at email@example.com.
We are hosted our first book fair for this year! Thanks for all the support. Parent Community Night on Wednesday, September 15, was a huge success!
Our next event will be a reading incentive for students who have met the reading challenge and turned in their reading READO sheets. It will be on October 21st. See below for info if you would like to help us!
Lots of reading love,
I am looking for a few Parent or Grandparent volunteers to help with our first reading incentive. It will be an outside event with stations and would require walking and physical activity to run the stations. It will be all day from 8am to 2:50. Each grade has a 90 minute or so block of time. Students will attend if they have completed the challenge. The date is October 21st, Rain date October 22nd. Interested? Call Mrs. Davis or email at firstname.lastname@example.org or 434 332-5141. Masks are required.
9/20/21 I want to personally thank all the parents, grandparents, friends, students, teachers and administrators that have supported our RMS Book Fair. Your support means so much to us! Keep reading! - Mrs. Davis
Mrs. Davis and some 8th grade readers enjoying the reward incentive!
First Quarter R.E.A.D.O Reading Incentive was a hit! Rolling pumpkins for reading? Yes at RMS!
Balancing Pumpkins? What else will they do for Mrs. Davis in the name of reading fun?
Read Across Rustburg was a huge success last week! Students and staff participated in a spirit week by dressing up as twins, confusing patterns, to represent a decade and in school colors!. They also all heard a book in the library called This Way Charlie by Caron Levis and Charles Santoso. The book is a great story about an animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Oklahoma. It was the start of a community service project for our school, we are collecting pet items for the Friends of Campbell County! It is such a worthy cause, and we are off to a great start. We will collect pet supplies for the whole month of March we welcome community donations as well. (see the list below)
Ms. Harvell and Mrs. Sugden are very pattern confused!!!
WELCOME RED CARPET READERS!!!!
On Friday, March 18th, RMS celebrated our 3rd READO Book Challenge. Students were challenged to read Award Winning Books from many different categories, and read they did! 179 students walked on the Red Carpet and participated in "award themed" activities. So much fun was had by students and adults, that they were asking for the next READO Challenge Sheets!
